On Campus Resident Student

21 years of age or older, or Junior status and above
(includes Graduate Students and/or Graduate/Teaching Assistants):

Eligible to purchase green overnight east or west parking privileges, based upon the location of your on-campus residence.

Less than 21 years of age, and either freshman or sophomore status:

Must apply on-line for parking privileges each year via a lottery/wait list. The Notices are sent to each applicant the last week of July.

Additional alternative parking sources located off-campus are sent to non-selected students with instructions that they may not drive or park on campus until they become eligible for and purchase parking privileges.

Exceptions: Veterans with two or more years of active duty military service (evidenced by DD Form 214), married students, or students certified by Student Health Programs may be eligible for green overnight east or west parking privileges, based on the location of your on-campus residence.

In all cases, when purchasing parking privileges, eligible applicants must present their valid driver's license, unexpired vehicle registration card (not the title), student ID card and check, cash, or major credit card for the current decal amount. Go to 'Student Decal Registration Form' at E-Service and Forms.

Commuter Students

21 years of age or older, or Junior status (56+ semester hours) and above (includes graduate students and/or graduate/teaching assistants):

Eligible to purchase red commuter parking privileges for applicable parking lots. Decal holders of this type of privilege may park in applicable lots from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. daily.

Less than 21 years of age, and either freshman or sophomore status:

Eligible to receive (free of charge) yellow parking privileges. This decal is valid only in Lots 18, 56, and the yellow portion of Lot 100 located in the northeast corner, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. From 4:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m., these decal holders may park in any unassigned, unrestricted parking space on campus. These decal holders may not utilize 15-minute loading zones between 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Faculty / Staff
(Excludes Graduate Students and Graduate/Teaching Assistants)

Blue decals are available for full-time faculty (including adjunct faculty), staff, and part-time faculty and staff not enrolled as students.

Red commuter decals are available to part-time faculty and staff.

Yellow decals (free of charge) are available to faculty and staff. These decals are valid only in lots 18, 56 and the yellow portions of Lot 100 located in the Northeast corner, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and in any unrestricted, unassigned space from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. daily. These decal holders may not utilize 15-minute loading zones between 2:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Eligible applicants, when purchasing parking privileges, must present their valid driver's license, unexpired vehicle registration card (not the title), and their SIUC ID Card or copy(ies) of appointment paper(s). Payment may be made by check, cash, or major credit card for the current decal amount.

Payroll Deduction : In partnership with the Payroll Office, the Parking Division is pleased to offer to eligible staff a pre-tax payroll deduction payment option for a limited period through close of business August 31, 2009. Eligible staff who elect to have their decal(s) paid for by 2 payroll deductions will see the 1st deduction taken in October 2009 while the 2nd deduction will be taken in November 2009. Please complete the top two portions of the attached SIUC Faculty & Staff Parking Decal Payroll Authorization Deduction Form to take advantage of this benefit (only one form needs to be completed for your decal purchase(s). Deductions may not be made for one’s affiliated spouse or dependent(s), as each employee is required to complete his/her own individual authorization form, if eligible to participate. Please note that if your employment with SIUC is terminated for any reason after the October 1, 2009 date that the parking decal becomes effective, federal tax law requires that you will not be able to obtain a cash refund for any unused portion of the parking benefit.

Visitor, Community and Student Recreation Center Users

Visitors and guests must utilize the metered spaces located throughout the campus. Disabled visitors and guests may park in the marked handicapped spaces while displaying disabled license plates or valid placard.

Visitors and guests holding valid Student Recreation Center passes may purchase parking privileges for the non-metered, unassigned or unrestricted spaces in Lot 94. The parking permit is valid only for the unexpired portion of time that the Student Recreation Center pass is valid. An alternative is to park free in Lot 100 and display a valid Student Recreation Center Parking Pass for Lot 100. This permit may be obtained from the Information Desk at the Student Recreation Center. This permit is only valid for the unexpired portion of time that the Student Recreation Center pass is valid.

Meter payment is required from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Meters cost 50 cents per hour. Meters at Pulliam Circle and at the Lingle Hall Ticket Sales Only spaces are for a limited time only, stated on the meter face.
